Is it necessary to migrate to Real Grid 2?

Do I really need to upgrade?

You do not necessarily need to upgrade RealGridJS to RealGrid2. Although 2.0 is compatible with RealGridJS, the method of using CSS and specifying column layouts is different, so if there are many screens to which the function is applied, migration effort must be considered. If you simply apply a theme, creating a theme with CSS is a relatively simple task and requires less migration work. However, if you use a lot of dynamic styling features in your code, you'll need to replace all of that with CSS.

1. Pre-confirmation items

• How many screens have the dynamic style feature applied?
• How many screens have the column grouping function applied?
• Is there a screen for mobile devices?
• Is the drag and drop function added in 2.0 necessary?
• Are UNDO and REDO functions necessary?
• Is the HTML renderer function necessary?

Scores are assigned to the criteria presented above, and actions are recommended as follows based on the scores.

2. Situational migration selection

• There is no reason to use 2.0 features.

• You can endure migration development man-hours without using dynamic styles and column grouping.

Consider RealGrid2 migration.

• I used the dynamic style or column grouping function a lot, but 2.0 additional features are needed.

If there are only a few screens that require additional 2.0 features, develop 2.0 only for those screens that require those features.

3. Recommended migration method

• Rather than migrating all screens at once, migrate only the necessary screens.
• Gain migration experience by applying simple viewability screens.
